Rancho Rincon de los Bueyes was subdivided multiple times and today, the land that was once known as Rincon de Los Bueyes is comprised of Beverlywood, Castle Heights, Crestview, Regent Square, a portion of Palms, the northeast corner of Culver City and a section of Baldwin Hills. In 1999, Greg Fischer, a community activist and history for our City of Angels, provided us with the below real estate ad from the Los Angeles Times on September 3rd, 1922:
The ad copy reads: "Wonderful, large, high and dry hillside lots at pre-war prices -- a few left, ranging in price from $595 to $1000 (Easy Terms.) Make it a point to drive out Sunday, sure. National Blvd. at Castle Avenue, midway between Los Angeles and the beaches." |
Special thanks to Tim Weeder for his extensive research and provision of historical maps! |
