With advance support from several hundred homes in Castle Heights, we were able to contract with APS, a private security service, to provide us with armed security for an annual cost of $60 per home – that is only $5 per month! As a participant, residents receive a front yard sign indicating that your home is protected by APS and you will have the ability to call APS for any type of concern, fear or emergency that you have, or simply to keep a watchful eye on your home while you are away from it. The display of your APS yard sign or window decal is what signals the officers that you are a client of APS and your home should be guarded on their patrols or responded to in an emergency. • If you hear a noise that concerns you outside your home, if you have someone parked in a car outside your home, or if you simply see a suspicious person in the neighborhood – you may call APS and they’ll dispatch a marked patrol car to investigate. Since they will already be on random patrols within our neighborhood's boundaries, the patrol car should be able to arrive within 3 to 5 minutes, traffic permitting.
• If you go out of town and want them to bring in your trash cans, collect your mail and keep it in a secured office, and walk your property once or twice a day – just call them.
• There is no need for a security system or to have them monitor your existing system. These additional services will be available at discounted prices on an individual basis.

APS regularly drives through our neighborhood in marked patrol cars and keeps an eye on our homes and property - something that is of vital importance to all of us. Castle Heights Neighborhood Association acts primarily as the bookkeeper and recruiter for this program. Please note that APS will only respond to those residences which have signed up and contributed $5 per month to cover the cost of the program. This is an open-enrollment program and APS dues will be billed on the below pro-rated basis for residents wishing to join the program mid-year:

This program is being organized by concerned neighbors and no Castle Heights Neighborhood Association funds will be utilized.
